I started Datum Records & Tapes in '23. Prior to that, I spent the better part of my life in the Coast Guard and spent a good amount of time out on the water. Datum is a term that's used in search and rescue that means: a point that one can reference when executing a search plan. At sea this can be something like a smoke or marker buoy. So if your crew has to look for someone or something - you reach it's last known point, drop a datum marker, and start your search pattern. It's the basis for the entire search.

Your search will undoubtedly take you in all different directions, but you will always have the datum marker to guide you.

I always told myself that if I ever put out music professionally, I'd use that phrase. And so I kept it in the tuck until my first 45 was released in '23. Since then, I have released projects with folks that I consider my OG's with the hopes of helping to guide or contribute to other's musical travels.

I have also been fortunate enough to have been tapped to work on projects for others outside of my label such as The High & Mighty, Heat Rock Records, Drumtronics, and The Lonely Island.
